What does combined type mean when talking about ADHD?

My son was diagnosed with ADHD combined type .
I have a pretty good Idea on the ADHD but I haven’t a clue what it means by combined type.Any real answers would be greatly appreciated.

      Being a former Hyper Active Child I believe it is simply Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity. In other words not only are they extremely hyper but lack concentration as well. Nasty mix, I ended up growing out of it somewhat….

      It means he shows symptoms of both hyperactive and inattentive type, and/or that he doesn’t exactly fit into either category.
